The Great Lock-In 2025: Week 1 Check-In

I’ve committed myself to The Great Lock-In of 2025. I’m using this as a 17-ish week intentional devotion to myself. I am planning on using this extended period to build foundational habits to change my life. This is not a sprint, it’s a season of focus. I am locking in to myself, my goals, and my well-being.

These are my four pillars of focus:

  • Career & Business: Consistency in my side hustle.
  • Health & Physique: Foundational habits for my health and wellbeing.
  • Personal Development: Consistent creative exploration.
  • Self-Care: Rituals of respect and care.

My Mantra for the Lock-In:

“Consistency over intensity. Progress over perfection.”

Week 1 Log: September 1 – September 7

Overall Week Sentiment:
I felt good this week. Hopeful? I guess I’m ready to dig deep and put in the work.

Focus Check-In:

Career & Business:

  • Action Taken: This week, I was supposed to finalize my digital product concept. I landed on digital planners since I use them all the time and am obsessed. I’ve also been experimenting on Canva with different design ideas.
  • Win: I completed week 1 and 2 goals for my side hustle plan! 🚀
  • Challenge: The technical side of creating the product feels daunting.
  • Next Step: Watch one tutorial on how to create a PDF planner and commit to pushing myself to try.

Health & Physique:

  • Action Taken: I ate home-cooked meals all week and completed all of my scheduled runs.
  • Win: I RAN A MILE NONSTOP!!! 🏆 (This is a huge deal for me!)
  • Challenge: I procrastinated and ended up having to walk late at night a few times.
  • Next Step: Focus on being consistent with my nighttime routine to make mornings and runs easier.

Personal Development:

  • Action Taken: I went on my scheduled weekly ‘Library Date’ to get some work done. I started doodling again.
  • Win: The act of building self-trust has been amazing. I kept my promises to myself.
  • Challenge: Fighting the feeling that I’m not doing enough.
  • Next Step: Giving myself grace while still gently pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

Self-Care:

  • Action Taken: Had my bi-weekly self-care routine and did yoga 4 times.
  • Win: I was able to check these tasks off my list, which felt incredibly satisfying.
  • Challenge: I procrastinated and had to rush through my routine.
  • Next Step: Set an alarm for myself when I have these non-negotiables to protect the time.

What I Learned This Week:

The biggest lesson wasn’t on my goal list: I don’t really give myself enough credit. I tend to be very hard on myself instead of allowing myself space to grow. Even with all I accomplished, the voice of “not enough” was still there.

But here’s the truth: Everything is in alignment, and I am proud of myself and my ability to keep pushing forward.

Intention for Week 2 (Sept 8 – 14):

Build on the tiny foundations set in Week 1. Focus on increasing the consistency of the actions, not the intensity. My night routine is going to be the crucial keystone habit for making everything else flow smoothly.

Thank you for being on this journey with me. Your support means everything! What was a win from your first week of September?
